SoundSelect privacy policy
Updated October 22, 2026
How SoundSelect handles your audio, settings and the macOS permissions it requests.
Who provides SoundSelect
SoundSelect is provided by Abounding Media LLC. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@aboundingmedia.dev.
Local audio processing
SoundSelect processes the audio of the apps you route entirely on your Mac. It does not record, save or upload your audio, and it requires no SoundSelect account. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking across apps or websites.
Information kept on your Mac
Your mixer settings, named configurations, custom output names and routing choices are stored locally on your Mac through macOS preferences. Abounding Media does not receive this information. SoundSelect does not collect personal information or a device identifier for tracking.
macOS permissions
To route an app's sound, macOS asks your permission to capture that app's audio; this is used only to route and process the audio you select. To let your volume keys control a SoundSelect output, macOS asks for a separate permission used only for that purpose. You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security, and SoundSelect simply loses the related ability until you grant them again.
Settings backups
Exporting a settings backup creates a file containing your SoundSelect configuration, saved to the location you choose. Restoring reads a backup file you select. These files stay on your Mac unless you move or share them; a backup is shared only with the destination you choose.
Contacting support
If you email support, you choose to send us your email address, message and any details you include. These are handled through ordinary email services rather than by the app, which has no account or server component. Contact info@aboundingmedia.dev with questions about a support message or to request its deletion. Do not send information that is unnecessary for your request.
Website and external services
Opening a website or using your mail app from SoundSelect takes you to that service, whose practices apply. The Abounding Media website uses Vercel hosting, which may keep ordinary server access logs as described in the website privacy policy.
Policy changes
We will update this page and its date when SoundSelect data practices change. Contact info@aboundingmedia.dev with questions about this policy.
