A voice-following manuscript reader for iPad, from Abounding Media.
Get started
Import a Word (.docx) manuscript from Library, open it, and tap the page to reveal the toolbar. Tap Mic off to start listening and allow microphone access when asked. Voice following requires English (US) on-device speech recognition. If unavailable, you can still scroll manually.
Make the words comfortable
In Settings, adjust text size, spacing, margins, theme and eye-line position. Paragraph Anchor follows each thought, Teleprompter follows the current line, and Highlight Only keeps movement to a minimum. Settings stops listening; turn the microphone on again when ready.
Take control of your place
Drag at any time to pause following. Resume picks up from the line at your eye line; fresh matching speech is needed to continue. With the toolbar visible, tap a paragraph to choose your place. A confident match in visible text can also resume following.
Manuscripts and outlines
Use wording you expect to say. Sparse bullet points and improvised speech provide less matching evidence, so Telectern may hold. Word headings are displayed but not matched as spoken text; put phrases you want followed in ordinary paragraphs.
If the microphone is unavailable
Check microphone permission for Telectern in iPad Settings. Enable English (US) Dictation if needed for on-device recognition. After leaving the app or opening Settings, turn listening on again. Telectern does not fall back to online speech processing.
Import, replace and delete
Use Import or open a .docx in Telectern from Files or another app offering document handoff. Duplicate filenames offer Replace or Keep both. Swipe left or long press a manuscript to reveal Delete. Keep your original Word documents separately.

Email info@aboundingmedia.dev with your iPad model, app version and what happened. Do not include private manuscript text unless needed. Diagnostic logs are optional and can contain manuscript text and recognized words; inspect them before sharing. Nothing is sent automatically.
